KaVo Financing

Handpiece feel is something practitioners notice immediately, and KaVo has spent decades refining the precision engineering that makes their high-speed and low-speed handpieces a reference point in the industry. But KaVo is more than handpieces. The Estetica treatment center is one of the more ergonomically sophisticated chairs in the market, the OP 3D covers CBCT imaging, and their diagnostic and endodontic lines give practices a coherent KaVo-branded workflow across multiple operatory functions. For practices that take equipment quality seriously, KaVo warrants serious financing.

KaVo Kerr Group is a dental products company with roots going back to KaVo Elektrotechnisches Werk founded in Germany in 1909. After various ownership changes, KaVo became part of the Envista Holdings portfolio (formerly the dental platform within Danaher Corporation), which also includes Kerr, Ormco, and several other major dental brands. KaVo handpieces carry a reputation for smooth torque and precision balance; the MASTERtorque and ELECTROtorque lines are particular favorites among practitioners who have tried competing brands. A single KaVo handpiece system runs a few thousand dollars, but a full operatory setup with the Estetica chair, imaging, and handpiece systems is typically $50,000 to $150,000 or more.

We finance KaVo purchases from handpiece systems when they are part of a larger transaction, to complete Estetica operatory setups, to the OP 3D CBCT. Minimum deal size $50,000. Application-only up to approximately $400,000. Decisions within days, funding within one to two weeks.

KaVo Products We Finance Most

The KaVo OP 3D CBCT is a versatile imaging unit that combines panoramic, cephalometric, and cone-beam 3D capability in a single platform. It is particularly popular in orthodontic and oral surgery settings where cephalometric analysis alongside 3D volumetric data improves treatment planning precision. For general practices that want one imaging unit to cover all their 2D and 3D needs, the OP 3D's combination functionality is an efficient investment.

The KaVo Estetica E70 treatment center is the flagship chair and delivery system combination that KaVo offers for high-end operatory setups. The Estetica line is characterized by its smooth movement, broad configuration flexibility, and clean integration with KaVo's handpiece delivery systems. Practices that have used the Estetica tend to stay with it; the chairside feel for both the practitioner and patient is a tangible difference versus commodity chairs.

The KaVo MASTERtorque handpiece series is the precision-engineered high-speed line that built KaVo's reputation. The MASTERtorque LUX with fiber optic illumination is the most common version we see financed as part of multi-handpiece purchases. Full handpiece sets for a multi-doctor practice can reach $20,000 to $40,000, and when they are part of a larger KaVo operatory package, including them in the same deal simplifies everything.

Practices That Go KaVo

Specialist practices are among the most consistent KaVo buyers. Endodontic practices in particular value the torque control and balance of KaVo electric handpieces for the precision cutting required in endo access and shaping. The ELECTROtorque line is designed to maintain consistent speed under load, which makes a real difference in preparation control when working at 25x magnification under a microscope.

Orthodontic practices adding imaging capability often choose the KaVo OP 3D because of its cephalometric arm. Orthodontists have used ceph imaging as a diagnostic standard for decades, and the ability to capture ceph and 3D CBCT from one unit without purchasing a separate ceph attachment is a practical and cost-saving choice.

High-end cosmetic and general practices that emphasize the patient experience also gravitate toward KaVo equipment. The Estetica chair and delivery system look and feel like premium equipment, and for a practice where the environment is part of the brand, that impression matters. Financing the Estetica as part of a complete operatory refresh is a straightforward investment in the patient experience side of production.

Financing Options for KaVo Purchases

The structure of a KaVo financing deal depends on what you are buying and what your practice's tax and cash flow situation looks like. A dental equipment loan keeps ownership from day one and allows you to claim the Section 179 deduction on the full purchase price in the year of acquisition. That works particularly well for high-margin practices that have a significant year-end tax liability to offset.

A dental equipment lease structured as an FMV lease results in a lower monthly payment, which is helpful during periods of expansion or cash flow tightening. At end of term, the fair market value buyout option lets you purchase the equipment at what it is worth at that point, upgrade to newer technology, or return it. For technology like the OP 3D, where a software or sensor upgrade is likely within five to seven years, an FMV lease gives you flexibility.

For practices already carrying KaVo equipment, a cash-out refinance on existing paid-off equipment is a path to releasing capital for a new purchase. If you own your Estetica chairs outright, the equity in that equipment can be unlocked without selling or replacing the chairs themselves.

Questions

Can I finance a KaVo OP 3D alongside new Estetica chairs in one transaction?

Yes. Bundling the imaging unit and treatment chairs into one transaction is the approach most practices take when doing a coordinated upgrade. Single payment, single approval process. As long as the vendor or vendors can coordinate delivery and we can confirm the equipment list, we can put it together as one deal.

KaVo handpieces are expensive. Can I finance a set of four or five without buying anything else?

Handpiece-only purchases typically fall below our $50,000 minimum unless you are buying a significant quantity. A full set of four or five high-quality KaVo handpieces at $1,500 to $3,000 each may not reach the threshold on its own. However, if you bundle handpieces with a chair, delivery unit, or imaging purchase, the full package qualifies and the handpieces can be rolled in.

Is the KaVo OP 3D available in used or CPO condition, and does that affect financing?

Used and certified pre-owned KaVo OP 3D units do come to market, primarily through practice consolidations and DSO equipment refreshes. CPO units qualify for financing with us, subject to documentation of working condition. Age affects the maximum term we can offer, but CPO KaVo imaging is regularly financed.

I am a solo practitioner with two years of practice history. Do I qualify?

Two-year practices can qualify. We look at your revenue trend and collections history, not just the practice age. If you were an associate for several years before opening your own location, that clinical history and income record is relevant context. Apply and let us assess the full picture.

How does KaVo equipment hold its value compared to other dental brands?

KaVo treatment centers and handpieces hold value relatively well, particularly the Estetica line and the MASTERtorque series. That residual value is a positive factor in financing because it gives the lender clean collateral throughout the term. It also means that a sale-leaseback or refinance is feasible longer into the equipment's life than it would be for lower-quality equipment.
