Dentsply Sirona Axeos CBCT Financing
Finance the Dentsply Sirona Axeos CBCT for oral surgery, implant, and orthodontic practices. Large-FOV premium imaging. Application-only up to $400k.
The Axeos sits at the top of the Dentsply Sirona imaging line. It is the unit oral surgeons and multi-specialty practices buy when they need full-skull coverage, premium image quality, and a platform that supports the most demanding diagnostic software available in the Dentsply Sirona ecosystem. The Axeos replaced the Orthophos XG 3D and Galileos Comfort as the flagship CBCT choice from Dentsply Sirona, and it delivers an expanded maximum FOV for cases that require complete craniofacial imaging.
Pricing for the Axeos starts substantially higher than the Orthophos S. Fully configured Axeos systems with panoramic and cephalometric arms and the premium software package can exceed $120,000. That puts the Axeos into a category where the financing structure matters as much as the equipment spec, because the capital commitment is large enough to require thoughtful term selection and payment structure. We work with oral surgery, implant, and maxillofacial practices on Axeos financing regularly.
What the Axeos Delivers Clinically
The Axeos was designed with a particular focus on dose management and image quality across a wide range of clinical applications. Dentsply Sirona's Intelligent Dose Control (iDC) technology on the Axeos modulates radiation output automatically based on patient anatomy detected during the positioning phase, reducing effective dose for smaller patients or lower-density anatomy without requiring the clinician to manually adjust exposure parameters for every case.
The FOV range on the Axeos covers from focused intraoral volumes for endodontic and periodontal assessment up to 17x13 cm for full-arch and facial structure imaging. For oral and maxillofacial surgery applications where the surgeon needs to assess facial fractures, pathology extending into the sinus or zygoma, or skeletal deformities, the large FOV on the Axeos provides diagnostic coverage that smaller units cannot match.
Sidexis 4 is the software platform, consistent with the rest of the Dentsply Sirona imaging line. The Axeos integrates with Sidexis's implant planning module, ceph analysis, and airway assessment tools. For practices that also run CEREC, the scan data from the Axeos feeds the same patient record as the Primescan or Omnicam intraoral data.
Practices that want to compare the Axeos against the Orthophos S within the Dentsply Sirona line should review the Orthophos S financing page for the smaller-FOV option. The Dentsply Sirona brand financing overview maps the full product family. For practices comparing the Axeos against Planmeca's Viso line, the Planmeca Viso financing page covers that competing product in comparable detail.
Practices That Buy the Axeos
Oral surgery practices are the primary Axeos customer. The large FOV, the high image quality across the craniofacial volume, and the iDC dose management system align with the clinical demands of a busy surgical practice where imaging is used for pre-surgical planning on every case. Oral surgery practices that are also teaching-affiliated or doing complex reconstructive procedures will find the Axeos's diagnostic resolution the appropriate level for those case types.
Implant-focused multi-specialty practices also specify the Axeos when case complexity extends beyond what a smaller CBCT can cover. A practice doing full-arch implant reconstructions with zygomatic implants, for example, needs imaging that captures above the sinus line in full context, and the Axeos provides that. Dental implant centers that are building a high-end surgical program find the Axeos is the unit that matches their patient selection and case complexity level.
Orthodontic practices treating adult complex cases and skeletal dysplasia cases also use the Axeos for the comprehensive 3D ceph analysis it enables. The combination of full-skull CBCT and integrated cephalometric software gives the orthodontist a view of skeletal structure, airway, and dental relationships in three dimensions.
Axeos Financing Structure
Axeos deals typically come in well above our $50,000 minimum and often exceed $100,000 with software, installation, and accessories. Our sweet spot for high-value imaging equipment is $100,000 to $200,000, and the Axeos sits comfortably in that range. Terms run 48 to 84 months, and the application-only process covers deals up to approximately $400,000 without requiring tax returns.
For practices that want to maximize the tax benefit of the Axeos purchase in year one, Section 179 and bonus depreciation provisions allow accelerated deductions on financed equipment placed in service during the tax year. Your accountant should confirm the applicable limits for your practice's situation, but in general, financed equipment qualifies for the same deductions as purchased equipment. Our Section 179 financing overview explains how the structure works in the context of equipment loans and leases.
For oral surgery practices that are acquiring a new location or expanding an existing office and financing the Axeos as part of a larger facility investment, our practice acquisition financing page covers scenarios where the equipment purchase is part of a larger transaction.

Questions
Can I bundle the Axeos with the cephalometric arm and full Sidexis software package in one financed amount?
Yes. All components on the dealer invoice, including the ceph arm, software licenses, installation, and shielding consultation if included, can be bundled into a single financed transaction. We finance the total invoice amount.
My oral surgery practice is a sole proprietorship. Does that affect the application structure?
Sole proprietorships are eligible. The application may need to include personal financial information alongside the business profile, since a sole proprietorship does not have a fully separated legal entity. We work with sole proprietors regularly in the medical and dental equipment space.
What is the expected useful life of an Axeos, and how does that affect the term selection?
Dentsply Sirona imaging equipment in the flagship tier typically has a practical clinical life of ten years or more, assuming the software is updated and the sensor is maintained. Most Axeos deals are financed at 60 or 72 months, well within the expected useful life. We do not recommend terms that extend beyond the equipment's realistic useful life.
Can I refinance an existing Galileos or Orthophos XG 3D to help fund an Axeos upgrade?
If the older unit still carries equity, a refinance or sale-leaseback of the existing equipment can generate cash toward the new purchase. We would assess fair market value of the existing unit and the outstanding balance (if any) to determine what equity is available to unlock.
Does B or C credit disqualify a practice from financing an Axeos?
Not automatically. B and C credit profiles are reviewed case by case. The structure may include a larger down payment, a higher rate, or a shorter maximum term compared to a prime-credit deal. Strong cash flow and a demonstrated revenue history can support B or C credit applications on larger transactions.
