Dentsply Sirona Orthophos S CBCT Financing
Finance the Dentsply Sirona Orthophos S CBCT for your practice. Compact footprint, 3-in-1 capabilities with CBCT, pan, and ceph. Application-only up to $400k.
Practices that are tight on floor space and long on diagnostic ambition buy the Orthophos S. Dentsply Sirona designed the Orthophos S as a compact 3-in-1 imaging solution: CBCT, panoramic, and cephalometric capture in a single column with a small footprint that fits into existing imaging rooms without structural modifications. That combination matters enormously for practices in older office suites or multi-tenant buildings where adding a separate CBCT room is not financially or structurally realistic.
The Orthophos S sits between the entry-level panoramic-only units and the full-scale CBCT systems like the Axeos in Dentsply Sirona's imaging lineup. For practices that need CBCT capability but do not require the Axeos's larger FOV or premium software suite, the Orthophos S delivers a cost-effective path to 3D diagnosis. List pricing typically falls priced roughly $60k–$90k depending on the FOV tier and ceph arm configuration, putting it firmly in our financing range.
Orthophos S Specifications and Clinical Reach
The Orthophos S ships in two CBCT FOV configurations. The S model with XS designation covers fields up to 11x10 cm, which handles most single-arch implant planning and endodontic assessment needs. The S model with a larger FOV option covers up to 11x10 cm as the maximum, making it suited for single-arch full-width cases, airway analysis limited to mandibular or maxillary arch evaluation, and periapical assessment.
The panoramic program on the Orthophos S includes multiple scan programs for adult dentition, pediatric patients, and edentulous ridges, with automatic patient positioning detection that adjusts the scan program parameters to the detected jaw geometry. The ceph arm adds full lateral ceph and PA ceph capabilities when the upgrade option is selected, giving orthodontic practices or general practices offering clear aligner therapy the ceph data they need for case planning.
Sidexis 4 is the imaging software that runs the Orthophos S workflow. Sidexis integrates with CEREC and Primescan workflows, linking the 3D diagnostic data to the restorative design workflow within the same patient record. For practices already running CEREC, the Orthophos S slots into that ecosystem without requiring a separate software environment.
Practices looking at the broader CBCT category before choosing between Orthophos S and competitor units should start on our CBCT and 3D imaging financing page. The Dentsply Sirona brand financing overview covers all Dentsply Sirona products we finance. If you need a larger-FOV CBCT than the Orthophos S provides, the Axeos CBCT financing page covers the premium unit in the Dentsply Sirona imaging lineup.
The Orthophos S Buyer Profile
General dentistry practices adding CBCT capability for the first time make up the largest segment. The Orthophos S is approachable enough in price and footprint that a general practice doing implant referrals in-house or evaluating complex endodontic anatomy does not need to commit to a full oral surgery imaging suite. The 3-in-1 integration also replaces an older panoramic-only unit without adding another piece of equipment to the imaging room, which simplifies both the physical layout and the maintenance overhead.
Orthodontic practices that want to add 3D ceph analysis without moving to a full-scale CBCT suite find the Orthophos S with the ceph arm a natural fit. Orthodontic practices doing clear aligner treatment planning can use the ceph data for skeletal analysis that informs the treatment plan in ways a 2D film cannot replicate. The combination of 3D CBCT and ceph on one unit is particularly efficient for cases where both data sets are needed for the same patient.
Endodontic practices also specify the Orthophos S for its ability to capture small-FOV CBCT at high resolution. Endodontic practices managing complex root anatomy, missed canals, and periapical pathology cases use small-FOV CBCT as a diagnostic standard in difficult cases, and the Orthophos S delivers that at a capital cost significantly below the larger CBCT systems.
Qualifying for Orthophos S Financing
Deals priced roughly $60k–$90k qualify for our application-only program. That means the full underwriting process runs on a credit application plus three months of business bank statements, without requiring tax returns, financial statements, or an extended due diligence process. For practices with strong credit and consistent cash flow, approval can move quickly, sometimes within one business day on a complete submission.
B and C credit practices are reviewed. The structure may look different at a B or C credit level, but the program exists to get the equipment financed regardless of whether the credit profile is prime. Startup practices qualify under the startup practice financing program, which is designed for practices under two years old that may not yet have the credit depth of a mature practice.
For practices considering a deferred payment option to allow staff training and workflow setup before the first payment is due, our deferred payment financing page explains how that structure works and what the qualifying criteria look like.

Questions
Can I add the ceph arm later and finance it separately?
Ceph arm add-ons purchased later are technically possible to finance as a separate small transaction, though they may fall below our $50,000 minimum on their own. If the ceph arm is included in the original purchase, it should be on the original invoice so it can be bundled into the same financing package.
Does the Orthophos S integrate with third-party implant planning software?
The Orthophos S exports CBCT data in DICOM format, which is compatible with most third-party implant planning applications including Simplant and coDiagnostiX. The native Dentsply Sirona planning environment is Sidexis 4 with optional implant planning modules, but the DICOM export keeps your workflow options open.
I own a paid-off panoramic unit that I want to replace with the Orthophos S. Can I do a sale-leaseback on the old unit to help fund the new purchase?
If the panoramic unit has meaningful fair market value, a sale-leaseback is possible, though older panoramic-only units typically carry lower residual values than multi-modality systems. We would assess fair market value on the existing unit before advising on the viability of that structure.
How does the Orthophos S compare to Planmeca or Carestream units at a similar price point?
We finance units from multiple manufacturers and can help you compare total cost of ownership across brands. The clinical comparison between specific units is best done with your dealer. The financing structure is largely brand-agnostic at the same price tier.
